I've been accepted to write several articles for the African American
National Biography published by Harvard University and Oxford University
Press.
From the AANB site: The African American National Biography is
a joint project of the W. E. B. Du Bois Institute for African and
African American Research at Harvard University and Oxford University
Press.
Covering a broader range of African American lives than ever before,
the African American National Biography will present history through
a mosaic of the lives of 10,000 individuals, some known throughout
the world and others all but forgotten, illuminating the abiding
influence of African Americans on the life of this nation through
the immediacy of personal experience. Our goal is to include not
only great and famous African Americans, but a selection that will
be representative of the scope of African American experience.
I wrote about several great Black Americans. Some were well known,
and some not so much, but all of them were proud, selfless individuals
who cared more for others than themselves. We should all hope to
be as great one day. I wrote about:
- M. Carl Holman
- Harry E. Davis
- Rosina Tucker
- Margaret Bush Wilson
- Slater King
I'm much honored to be a part of this project. It's not everyday
that one can read, research and write about the past, and see so
much hope in the future. Get more info here.
